Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance to school
assigned, including counseling services. Provide a proactive developmental
guidance program to encourage all students to maximize personal growth and development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Texas Certificate, Counselor Certification
Three years teaching experience, and
A Master’s Degree
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Shall be responsible for scheduling individual conferences with each student each year for the purpose of pre-registration and reviewing and making necessary adjustments toward promotion.
- Shall provide orientation activities for incoming 5th and 6th grade students.
- Shall be responsible for organizing and administering STARR and other tests as applicable. Is also responsible for interpreting test results to students and parents.
- Shall provide individual and group guidance with regard to personal and school related problems.
- Shall be responsible for preparing Course Description Booklet and assisting with scheduling.
- Shall be liaison person for Title I, Challenge, and Special Education programs through referrals, recommendations and ARD committees.
- Shall be responsible for other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Regular district-wide travel as needed; moderate lifting and carrying. Attend out of town meetings.
