Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance to school

assigned, including counseling services.  Provide a proactive developmental

guidance program to encourage all students to maximize personal growth and development.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

            Valid Texas Certificate, Counselor Certification

            Three years teaching experience, and

            A Master’s Degree

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Shall be responsible for scheduling individual conferences with each student each year for the purpose of pre-registration and reviewing and making necessary adjustments toward promotion.

 

  1. Shall provide orientation activities for incoming 5th and 6th grade students.

 

  1. Shall be responsible for organizing and administering STARR and other tests as applicable. Is also responsible for interpreting test results to students and parents.

 

  1. Shall provide individual and group guidance with regard to personal and school related problems.

 

  1. Shall be responsible for preparing Course Description Booklet and assisting with scheduling.

 

  1. Shall be liaison person for Title I, Challenge, and Special Education programs through referrals, recommendations and ARD committees.

 

  1. Shall be responsible for other duties as assigned by supervisor.

            Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress.  Regular district-wide travel as needed; moderate lifting and carrying.  Attend out of town meetings.
